This class bridges the gap between improvisation and acting, helping performers become more grounded, present, and playful on stage. In each monthly Friday session, we focus on a different theme, blending emotional truth with comic technique, and mischief with precision.
You’ll warm up body and brain, dive into focused exercises, and receive clear, supportive feedback from our experienced facilitators.. Sessions will help improvisers deepen their emotional range and actors loosen up into spontaneous play.
Whether you’re trained in theatre or improvisation (or both), this is a space to take risks, rediscover your instincts, and sharpen your scene work through a longform* lens. The class draws inspiration from emotionally honest improv, sharp comedic timing, and mischievous creativity.
Run by some of the UK’s most experienced improvisers, from Brighton’s largest improv school.
Expect a thoughtful, playful atmosphere.
*Longform improv just means improvisation without a pre-determined game or structure. You play a scene, group of scenes or show from a one-word suggestion, or even without one!
Who it's for:
This class is open to experienced improvisers and confident actors. Students should be at ease performing without a script, and hungry for nuance, challenge, and connection.
We aim to make reasonable adjustments for access needs. You can tell us about this on your booking form.
