Class description

Welcome to the Advanced Online Improv Musical Ensemble course, a deep dive into the world of musical shortform. This term, we’re jumping into Character Songs.

About Us:

The Musical Ensemble is a globally connected group of passionate performers who have been crafting musical magic online since the onset of the pandemic. With members from all over the world, our ensemble thrives on a shared love for musical improvisation and the drive to explore diverse creative genres.

What to Expect:

A whirlwind of musical improv games from all-time favourites to brand new formats in the making. We’ll polish and perform classic shortform games like “Blues” and “Sounds like a song,” while also experimenting with fresh ideas to create playful, punchy, audience-ready musical moments. Expect close coaching, lots of formats and lots of singing.

Refine the Classics: Take crowd-pleasing musical shortform games to the next level with close coaching on musicality, comic clarity, and performance polish.

Invent New Formats: Collaborate to test, tweak, and co-create original shortform structures that could become tomorrow’s mainstage hits.

Level Up Your Skills: Strengthen song structure, character choices, and ensemble awareness to become a sharper, more confident performer.

Play Big, Play Smart: Explore how fast-paced formats can still have depth, rhythm, and emotional payoff

Celebrate With a Show: The course culminates in a joyful online showcase where our games get their moment in the spotlight!
